From the Desk of Dan Amdur, CEO, Moving Station/QuickBuy®
A Note to My Friends and Colleagues at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Starck Realty and Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago,
I am honored to share with you that Moving Station will be donating $250 to the Chicago Furniture Bank, on behalf of your organizations respectively, for every QuickBuy® Sale in Illinois through the end of 2022.
The Chicago Furniture Bank plays a critical role in not only furnishing homes for the those newly housed in our local communities, but it has also filled a huge void. When these individuals are provided housing, they often come from a position of homelessness and are not able to bring furniture with them, nor can they afford to buy any. As a result, many are sleeping, eating, and living day-to-day without any furniture at all. That’s where the Chicago Furniture Bank comes in.
Since its inception in 2018, The Chicago Furniture Bank has furnished over 7,000 homes, starting with 232 in 2018, 1,400 the following year, another 2,100 in 2020, and 3,300 in 2021. We are almost half-way through 2022 and they are on pace to furnish another 4,000 homes. And they are only just beginning.
Besides begin a great organization, I have a personal connection to it. I serve as a founding Board Member for this organization which my son Griffin and Andrew Witherspoon, classmates from graduate school, started together just 4 years ago. They are the ones who did the heavy lifting, both literally and figuratively, and built this from the ground up.
Moving Station remains committed to supporting the Chicago Furniture Bank and will gladly contribute $250 for each QuickBuy home sold by one of your agents. I also hope you will see value in their services offered throughout Chicagoland and help promote both the Chicago Furniture Bank and their sister nonprofit organization The Honest Junk Company.
For more information about the Chicago Furniture Bank, you can visit their website or read this recent article about Griffin and Andrew which appeared in Crains.
Thank you.
